MEXT designates a new International Headquarters at Keio

Update:May 06, 2005

The Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) announced last week that Keio University will receive a grant as part of its Strategic Fund for Establishing International Headquarter in Universities program. The 5 year, competitive grant provides funding to universities who are highly motivated to enhance their international dimension.

Of the 68 universities that applied for this grant, 20 were selected to receive funding. Only 3, including Keio, are private institutions.

The Strategic Fund for Establishing International Headquarter in Universities program was designed to encourage universities to develop and implement a unique strategy for international education and research that emphasizes each institution’s distinctive strengths and character.

For more information about Keio’s global activities, please visit our Organization for Global Initiatives (OGI) website.

Details of the Strategic Fund for Establishing International Headquarter in Universities program can be found on the MEXT website here (Japanese only).
