Commemoration ceremony: celebration of the academic exchange between Sao Paulo University and Keio University
The commemoration ceremony to celebrate the academic exchange between Sao Paulo University and Keio University’s Faculty of Law was held at the north building conference hall on December 8th.
This year has become the 25th anniversary of academic exchange for both universities. Furthermore, we received delegation from Sao Paulo University in order to strengthen the bond of both universities and to establish further academic exchange.
The ceremony started with a greeting from the dean of the Faculty of Law (Keio university), Seiichi Mori. In the afternoon part, Kazuo Watanabe, professor of Law Department (Sao Paulo University), also an honorary degree of Doctor of Law from Keio University addressed a speech entitled "The present condition of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in Brazil”. The speech was followed by a signing ceremony for a renewal of the academic exchange agreement. The dean of the Law department of Sao Paulo University, Eduardo Cesar Silveira Vita Marchi embraced the 25 years of academic exchange and in appreciation of it, a testimonial was exchanged between both universities with a lecture from Masato Ninomiya, Professor of Sao Paulo University. Masao Ikeda, professor of Keio Law School anchors the two hours ceremony with the closing address. The ceremony ended successfully with an impressive earnestness of the 24 participants from Sao Paulo University.
