Volunteer activities and the Fukuzawa Bunmeijuku leads to launching a medical information website
Wanting to broaden her perspectives, Maki became a member of the International Cooperation Student Organization KIVO and participates in volunteer activities to deliver books to children in Nepal, and she also studied team medicine at CISCA, a medical student organization. She had set her sights on becoming a pharmacist to help those suffering from illnesses, but one day during a practical training class at a pharmacy, she started to question the excessive use of medications. This triggered her to think about establishing a more accurate and rational system of health management, and today, she aims to become a health consultant with a pharmacist qualification. Based on group work with medical peers at the Fukuzawa Bunmeijuku, which she took part in as a member of the 10th cohort, she was involved in the launch of, and continues to be involved in managing the medical information website “Medical Note”. Every single decision she has made is leading toward realizing her dream of creating a global model for healthcare in an aging society.
